Lu Shiyi(1611-1672)was a famous theoretician and poet in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties in the Taicang area of Jiangnan.In science,with him as the leader,he started the Konkan-tei school.In poetry,he composed more than 1,200 poems during his lifetime.From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty,he lived in the rafter and devoted his life to writing and teaching.A study of Lu Shiyi’s poetic creation and thought can grasp his position and influence in the history of poetry development in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.In general,a study of Lu Shiyi’s poetic creation and poetic thought can grasp his position and influence in the history of the development of poetry in the Qing Dynasty.This paper is divided into seven parts: including the introduction,five chapters of the main text,and the conclusion.The introduction explains the reason for the selection of the topic and the value of the study,and compares the current status of research on Lu Shiyi and his poetic creation.The first chapter compares Lu Shiyi’s family history,life and friendships.First,we briefly introduce Lu Shiyi’s family history and life.According to the specific circumstances of his travels,he classifies his contacts into: former sages and teachers,friends,friends from outside,court officials,and senior disciples.In his literary travels,he mainly participated in the activities of the Fushe,the Lotus Society and the Lou Dong Ten Old Men Society.Chapter 2 elaborates on Lu Shiyi’s poetic thought.The first part examines the ideological origins of Lu Shiyi’s poetics in terms of the origins of science and the origins of poetics;The second part clarifies Lu Shiyi’s poetic tenets of "man,the world,and poetry","learning poetry is learning the way",and "poetry is the way of nature".The third part outlines Lu Shiyi’s theories of poetry composition,such as "the ancient style is based on Han and Wei,and the recent style is based on Li and Tang","poetry flows from the heart",and "poetry is only elegant and correct".Chapter 3 summarizes Lu Shiyi’s poetry.This chapter summarizes Lu Shiyi’s poems into five categories,namely,choral poetry,arioso poetry,chronicle poetry,hermitage poetry,and poetry on science,and analyzes them in relation to each other.Chapter 4 outlines the artistic characteristics of Lu Shiyi’s poetry,which include:a variety of styles,mainly rhythmic poetry;long poem titles and detailed poem sequences;prominent group poetry;and a poetic style that is mainly mellow,but also plain and natural.Chapter 5 explores the status and influence of Lu Shiyi’s poetry.First,the position of Lu Shiyi in the history of local poetry is mainly discussed from the perspective of poetry history,taking the area of Taicang(ancient name Lou Dong)as an example.In addition,the high evaluation of Lu Shiyi’s person and poems by later generations can reflect that the poems have a certain status.Finally,the influence of Lu Shiyi’s poetry is analyzed through the acceptance and dissemination of Lu’s poems in later generations and contemporaries’ requests to Lu Shiyi for poetry.The conclusion explores and reveals the status of Lu Shiyi’s poetry in the poetry world of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and the literary-historical significance of his poetry.
