Alberto Mielgo a renowned artist and animation director,was the art director of Disney’s Genesis: Uprising(2013)and concept designer for Sony’s Spider-Man: Parallel Universe animated film.His first animated short film in a personal sense,"Witness"(2019),is included in the Netflix anthology "Love,Death and Robots".For his unique artistic style and personalized camera language,he has attracted numerous fans and entered the public eye.When understanding Alberto Mielgo’s artistic career,it is not difficult to find that this bold and fearless prancing is inextricably linked to his departure from the systematic art education system.Under the framework of reality and education system,traditional animation creators’ mindset and creative perspectives tend to be stuck in the invisible "boundaries" brought by "standardization".Alberto Mi elgo,as a "stranger" or "rebel" outside the "framework" of this academic system,can,on the contrary,jump out of the "boundary " to express and display his unique aesthetic and talent to the greatest extent.In his different animation works,Alberto Mi elgo upholds the same artistic style,but reveals a very different aesthetic paradigm.His works focus on the philosophical issues of love and death,man and machine,rebellion and tradition,and other oppositional philosophical issues,and these confrontational individual and symbiotic relationships contribute to his unique narrative style.At the same time,he also skillfully combines Spanish realistic painting and animation art to create a fantasy world that is uniquely characteristic of his personal artistic style.This creative concept of fusing philosophy,science and art seems to have long surpassed the scope of the animation work itself and become a great work of art.For this reason,it is more relevant and valuable to study Alberto Mielgo’s animation works in depth.This paper explores the three processes of the origin of style,the flow of style and the blooming of style in Alberto Mielgo’s animation works from multiple perspectives,such as subject matter,genre,shape,picture,symbol and music.And through exploring the logic,value and ideology of his animation style generation,it tries to explain the unique aesthetic tension and aesthetic value of Alberto Mielgo’s animation works.
