"Southern Impressions" is a piano suite created by renowned Chinese pianist Zhu Jian’er,drawing inspiration from the music of ethnic minorities in the southwestern region of China.This article conducts an analysis of the composition features,harmonic progressions,polytonality,imitation of ethnic instruments,and emulation of folk singing style in the piano suite,aiming to delve into its sonic characteristics and performance techniques for the purpose of providing references for music performance and teaching practices.Firstly,this article primarily focuses on studying the composition features of the piano suite "Southern Impressions," including harmonic progressions,polytonality,and the incorporation of imitations of ethnic instruments and folk singing styles.It seeks to deeply understand and master the sonic qualities of the piece.Secondly,this article conducts an in-depth study and exploration of the performance aspects of "Southern Impressions."
