With the introduction of English core literacy,English teaching needs to move towards depth teaching.But the single main textbook teaching has been difficult to meet today’s society to the students’ language ability,thinking quality,cultural character and learning ability of the requirements.In today’s world,subject integration is becoming a major trend in the development of international education,and in-depth English teaching is also appealing for the organic integration of picture books and main textbooks.At present,there are not many researches on the integration of picture books and main textbooks,which need to be further discussed.Based on the topic of "Research on Integrated Teaching of Primary English Picture Books and Main Textbooks",this paper takes "Integrated Teaching" as the central topic and focuses on the following questions: Why to carry out the integration of picture books and main textbooks? What is the possibility of integrating picture books with main textbooks? What is the connotation of the integrated teaching of English picture books and main textbooks? What is the path of fusion? How to determine the fusion point? How to choose the teaching strategy of integrating picture books with main textbooks? What is the appeal of the integration of the two to teachers? This paper consists of three parts except the introduction part.Part Ⅰ: Theoretical construction.Including chapters one and two.This part mainly discusses the implication of integration teaching and the necessity and possibility of integration teaching in theory,which lays the theoretical foundation for this study.The first chapter discusses the possibility and necessity of the integration of picture books and main textbooks on the basis of in-depth teaching,and analyzes the respective dilemmas of picture books and main textbooks.The intercultural teaching of picture books is limited and the scope of application is narrow,while the obscure language of main textbooks is also a dilemma that cannot be ignored.Second language acquisition theory,transfer theory and holistic view of language teaching rely on the integration of the two.It also seeks the value of the picture book and the main textbook and complements each other.The thesis of this paper is the primary school English picture book and the main textbook.In the second chapter,it mainly explains the meaning of the integration of the primary school English picture book and the main textbook.It is discussed from three aspects,namely,the understanding of picture books,the understanding of integrated teaching,and the understanding of integrated teaching of picture books and main textbooks in primary school English.Through the understanding of the meaning of picture books,the history of picture books,the characteristics of picture books are analyzed,and the value of picture books is pursued.This paper analyzes the connotation and characteristics of integrated teaching,and interprets the implication of the integrated teaching of English picture books and main textbooks based on the understanding of picture books and integrated teaching.The second part: the fusion path.Including the third chapter.This part mainly discusses the integration path of primary school English and main textbooks.Choosing excellent English picture books for integration is the prerequisite for the successful integration of picture books and main textbooks,and then teachers should find the right entry point and naturally start.At the same time of the integration of the two,teachers should be based on the classroom objectives of the class teaching,using a variety of content organization methods,to find the right integration strategy.In this chapter,the objective of the textbook,the content of the main textbook and the ability of students are the basis for choosing picture books.Secondly,in the practice of integrating picture books with main textbooks,teachers can start from relevant themes and consistent goals.The goal of integrated teaching is to improve language ability,cultural character and thinking quality.This chapter also discusses that there are three modes of the integration of main textbooks and picture books,which are the integration of English subjects,the integration of picture book story reading and the integration of English themed activities.There are two kinds of integrated teaching methods.Finally,from the teacher’s point of view,this paper discusses the strategies of integrated teaching,including Pre-teaching,While-teaching and Post-teaching.Part Three: Clarifying Challenges.Including Chapter 4.This part mainly elaborates the challenge and appeal of the integration of picture books and main textbooks for teachers.The integration of picture books and main textbooks puts forward requirements on teachers’ ability of curriculum understanding,curriculum creative design and curriculum implementation.
