Comparison Of Time Words "X Qian"

The words "X qian" includes "congqian" "yiqian" "zhiqian" "xianqian" "muqian" "yanqian" and "dangqian".In the past,the research on "X qian" temporal words mainly focused on the lexicalization process and syn chronic description of "congqian" "yiqian" "zhiqian" "muqian" and "yanqian".Th e remaining words are less involved.Based on previous studies,This paper at tempts to conduct a comprehensive and systematic study of the temporal word“X 前”from both synchronic and diachronic perspectives using the "three plan es" theory and cognitive metaphor theory.This article consists of an introducti on and four chapters.The introductory part mainly introduces the reason and significance of the topic selection,the research status of the topic selection,the research method to be adopted in this paper,and the source of the corpus of this paper.Chapter I first examines the semantic evolution and grammaticalization process of "qian".Secondly,the grammatical evolution of the “X” component and the lexicalization process of the "X qian" time word were separately analyzed.Finally,we discussed the sources,motivations,and mechanisms of the lexicalization of “X前”time words,This article attempt to analyze how the "X qian" time word evolved from a phrase structure or cross layer structure to an independent time word,and use rhythmic mechanism,high-frequency use,semantic decline of the “X” component and Syntactic environmentto explain the lexicalization motivation of the "X qian" time word.Additionally,attempt to use chunking psychology and reanalysis to explain the lexicalization mechanism of the "X qian" time word.Chapter II analyzes and compares the syntactic function differences,semantic differences and pragmatic differences of "X qian" time words against the background of the "three planes" theory.Based on the syntactic function and dictionary interpretation of "X qian" time words,the "X qian" time words are divided into "congqian" time words,"zhiqian" time words and "muqian" time words,and then the internal members of the three subcategories of "X qian" time words are carefully compared semantically,and finally the similarities and differences of the three types of "X qian" time words are comprehensively compared at the pragmatic level from the perspectives of chapter articulation function and preset function.Chapter III mainly analyzes and explains why the "X qian" time words have functional differences at the synchronic level.This paper intends to explain the functional differences of "X qian" time words from four perspectives: diachronic evolution,stylistic color,spatial metaphor and cognitive experience.Among them,the diachronic evolution has the most profound impact on the function of the "X qian" time word;The spatial metaphor and cognitive experience have a certain impact on some functions of the "muqian" time word,among which the structural meaning of the "muqian" time word is mainly restricted by the spatial metaphor,while the semantic characteristics of the "zhiqian" time word are more limited by people’s cognitive experience.Chapter IV is the conclusion,which summarizes the full text and reflects on the shortcomings of this study.
