Research On Narrative Characteristics Of Non-dialogue Animation

As one of important ideographical expression methods used in narrative animations,dialogue influences the setting of narrative structure,expression of narrative themes,application of narrative languages and other aspects of animations.However,as an artistic form abandoning dialogues,animations without dialogues propose special requirements for narrative measures due to non-language narrative conditions and thus present a series of unique narrative characteristics.Taking the problem of dialogue in animations as the entry of research and applying the research method of film narratology,this paper makes a narrative analysis of animations without dialogues.This paper consists of four parts: the first part mainly introduces the significance and current situation of the researches on animations without dialogues and the innovative points of this research;from the perspective of narration,the second part clarifies the reasons why animations do not use dialogues and the influences on animation narration,overviewing this paper;the third part concludes the unique narrative mechanism that animations without dialogues are different from animations with dialogues by deeply discussing the narrators in animations without dialogues;the fourth part continuously digs the narrative characteristics of animations without dialogues in visual and auditory performance along the previous research path.In the meantime,this paper summarizes the narrative skills of animations in the context without dialogues by combining with the creative practice of my graduation work Star during the process of theological analysis,providing some references for the creators of animations without dialogues in the future.
