The Republican period was in a period of struggle between old and new cultural ideas, and calligraphy in the Republic of China was in an important link to carry forward the past and enlighten the future.Although this history is only 38 years, due to cultural conflicts and blending during this period,a group of awakened women activated their artistic creativity, and they actively integrated into the trend of social change in the form of a group, while displaying their own calligraphy culture, they were also diligent in a variety of social activities, thereby improving the social influence of the female calligrapher group, which was fully reflected in the women’s calligraphy creation activities. The calligraphy of female calligraphers in this period has made a great breakthrough in quality compared with the previous generation, and the time of this history is closer to the contemporary era,so the literature that can be collected is richer. However, most of the articles are research and commentary on the life and art of individual female writers, and the general writing style is also biographical works, lacking a macroscopic perspective of the group of female writers in the Republic of China to carry out the overall theory and analysis,so this project takes the group of female writers in the Republic of China as the research object, and places individual female writers under the general framework of the group, aiming to complete the complete portrayal of the real situation of female calligraphers in the Republic of China era.The first part of this article makes a basic overview of the group of female calligraphers in the Republic of China and analyses the basic situation. This information is of basic significance for the subsequent writing. The second part is about the calligraphy education of the group of female calligraphers in the Republic of China.Although the majority of women in ancient China were deprived of the right to education,It seems that women can accept education by default, and there is even a tendency to encourage them.Chapter 3 introduces the calligraphy culture that represents the calligrapher, and its calligraphy style is displayed and analysed. The fourth part examines the social activities and roles of female calligraphy in the Republic of China. These parts together constitute the structure of women’s calligraphy in the Republic of China. The female calligraphers in the Republic of China period were enough to represent the characteristics of an era and a distinct group image. In the male-dominated calligraphy world, they were hidden in a half-light and half-dark corner. However, the shining art cannot be concealed, and history and time will clearly prove the value of this group of female calligraphers.
