Yuan Dynasty painting was dominated by the literati and Confucian scholars,who sang about their seclusion while painting amazingly,pushing the literati painting that gradually emerged in the Song Dynasty to its peak.The reason why Yuan painting still maintains its vitality and attractiveness is that it was regarded as an important spiritual support for the literati and contained a strong and distinct national spirit.The purpose of examining Liu Guandao’s "Summertime Painting" in the early Yuan Dynasty is to examine the connotations and qualities of the Yuan literati spirit,to explore the internal causes of the aesthetic changes of Yuan literati painting from another perspective,and to explore the values and life pursuits of the Yuan literati through a critical understanding of the literati spirit in "Summertime Painting" and to propose directions or reflections on the creation of paintings today.
