Connecting Culture In Ancient And Modern Times,and Integrating Arts At Home And Abroad

Zhao Jiping is a famous composer in China.He is famous for his distinctive "Chinese temperament and Chinese spirit".Commissioned by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles(CFLAC)and China Musicians Association in 2018,Symphony of Ode to Elegance is a large-scale ethnic orchestral work composed by Zhao Jiping.It consists of five movements: Ode to Preface,Guan Ju,Xuanbird,You Lancao and National Style.Composer selected literature classic combined with the representative of Confucianism chapters of the book of songs as subject matter,with unique national music language and different ways of expression,the ancient ode today,not only expresses the traditional national spirit of praise,but also through the ancient and modem barriers,grant it embodied in the new era of spiritual connotation and value.In terms of creative techniques,Zhao Jiping bases himself on folk music and uses western music techniques for "I" to express the content of his works more richly and realize the dialogue with the multi-world culture.This paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter introduces the composer Zhao Jiping,the general situation of his creation,and the creation background of the work.The second and third chapters respectively illustrate the creation characteristics of "Ode to Elegance symphony" from the creation implication to techniques.The first chapter discusses the advantages of Zhao Jiping’s creation of this work from two aspects: the general situation of Zhao Jiping’s works and the creation background of "Ode to Elegance symphony".Through the brief summary of the composer’s works,the author reflects the distinctive Chinese style of his works,and then discusses the favorable background of his works from three aspects of creation opportunity,regional conditions and family tradition.The second chapter summarizes the creation implication features of Ode to Elegance symphony from three aspects of creation idea,theme selection and thought connotation.With admiration for traditional culture,Zhao Jiping selects representative passages from the ancient Book of Songs and Confucianism to express the new vitality of traditional national spirit in the present era with unique musical language.The third chapter discusses the integration of Chinese and Western creative techniques from three aspects:musical structure,harmony technique and orchestration technique.Zhao Jiping always insists on telling Chinese stories in China’s own language,and on this basis,draws lessons from western diversified techniques to communicate with the world,reflecting The Times of his works.Finally,this paper summarizes the article and provides some reference experience for the creation of Chinese national orchestral music in the new period.
