Andrew Wyeth is a prominent American Realist painter and one of the most representative artists in the United States.In 1982,Han Mo held an exhibition of Chinese paintings in Beijing,where Wyeth’s works were first seen by the public.The artists at the time were deeply attracted by Wyeth’s paintings,with their direct emotional appeal and homesickness.This provided a good reference model for the young artists of the time.Thus,the spirit and connotation of Wyeth will continue to be inherited and developed.This work starts with the reason for the emergence of the Wyeth style and why it was chosen by Chinese artists,and analyzes the changes and developments of Chinese watercolor under the influence of Wyeth.From the spiritual connotation,aesthetic pluralism,and expression form,it discusses the development and continuation of Chinese watercolor art under the influence of Wyeth,trying to explain the diversity,national characteristics,and spiritual connotation of the development of Chinese watercolor art.In general,based on the summarization of Wyeth’s artistic style,this article analyzes and studies the development and innovation of Chinese watercolor under the influence of Wyeth,from the introduction of the West to the use by China,from the single to the pluralistic.The influence of Wyeth style opened a door for Chinese watercolor,bringing unlimited inspiration for exploring new watercolor development paths.His spiritual connotation has continued to influence China to this day.He provides valuable reference for exploring and forming a Chinese-style artistic style in our country and deeply inspires future painters.
