The artistic style of new realism in the 20 th century plays an important role in the formation of the new artistic style system.As a representative of the artistic style of New Realism,Andrew Wyeth’s works reflect a very distinct and unique personal style,which has played an enlightening and exemplary role in the development of Western painting art,and even the development of New Realism in China.The formation of this artistic style mainly includes the overall style of artistic thought,as well as the application of painting techniques,colors,composition and other effects.In specific paintings,the painter will focus in the United States is recorded in the natural climate in the country and people around,show the painter focus on man and nature and the relationship of exploration,utilization of exquisite realistic,realistic style with distinctive characteristics,successful cause the viewer on local miss memories,and then get the sublimation of art on thought.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part of the thesis is to analyze the reasons for the formation of Andrew Wyeth’s painting style.The formation of Wyeth’s painting style is closely related to his own growing experience and living environment.Under the background of the American New Realism,due to the enlightenment of his father and the influence of two American painters who cannot be ignored,coupled with Wyeth’s own love for painting and other factors,he gradually formed a unique painting style.The second part is an analysis of the specific Wyeth style of painting because he hasn’t been away from my hometown,is bound to be influenced by American countryside and natural,simple composition and color of the composed exquisite realistic made Wyeth in objective image,the characteristics of his figure painting is the most representative meaning,reflecting the melancholy and sad.Wyeth often achieved the desired artistic effect through the flexible use of materials such as watercolor and tempera.He often used dry brush to complete tempera paintings,with the color of reddish-brown as the main body,reflecting the invisible pain deep in Wyeth’s heart.At the same time,he used different points of view in different paintings to reflect the artistic quality of the paintings.Typical and metaphorical elements often appear in Wyeth’s paintings,which effectively convey the author’s thoughts on life,including sadness,missing,death and other emotions,and reflect the author’s complex inner world.The third part elaborates the inspiration of Wyeth’s painting style to the author’s creation.The author analyzes the personal works from the selection of materials to the completion of the creation.
