A Study Of The Production Mechanism Of Chinese Reported Speech From The Perspective Of Intentionality

Reported speech is an important linguistic phenomenon in human daily communication,but there is a lack of theoretical localization and specific research on the Chinese reported speech phenomenon.In recent years,with the development of cognitive science,philosophy of mind has become one of the most dynamic research fields.The theoretical achievements of philosophy of mind and language research provide a new way for the cognitive research of reported speech.Based on this,this study puts forward a “dual structure model of consciousness” to explain the mechanism of Chinese reported speech,and explains the production of intentionality-guided Chinese reported speech.The ontological structure of Chinese reported speech is an intentionality structure,which is transformed into a modifying structure when projected into the language.Using the “dual structure model of consciousness”,the production mechanism of Chinese reported speech can be described as follows:Under the guidance of intentionality,the ontological structure of the event is converted into the description structure,generating the image of the speech;the speaker shapes the image in his brain,solidifies the pre-linguistic event of the description structure into the code,and generates the linguistic event of the speech.The operation of the “dual structure model of consciousness” is dominated by the intentionality of the speaker,which is embodied in the two dimensions of intentionality,i.e.,intentionality content and intentionality attitude.This study takes deictic as the starting point to reveal how intentionality attitude acts on intentionality content in the production mechanism of Chinese reported speech,and explains the production process of Chinese reported speech under the guidance of intentionality.This paper probes into the establishment of a systematic analysis system for Chinese reported speech.
