As one of the four major links in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,language testing and evaluation plays an important role in Chinese learning and teaching.Language testing includes not only the testing of language itself,but also the testing of culture.Language and culture complement each other.Learning a language must involve learning its culture.Therefore,the Chinese Proficiency Test is bound to include cultural factors.In recent years,with the gradual development of the Chinese proficiency test in the reform,the study of cultural factors in the HSK test has become a new topic.This thesis takes Official Examination Papers of HSK(Level 4-6)as the research object,and uses quantitative analysis,questionnaire survey and comparative analysis to make quantitative statistics on the cultural factors in the new HSK test questions.Besides,this paper analyzes them from the distribution,presentation,and frequency of various cultural factors.At the same time,this thesis explores the role of cultural factors in HSK test questions on language learning and language teaching through questionnaires,in which the students who passed HSK Level 4 and above were surveyed.Besides,this thesis selects four international students for interview.Finally,this thesis puts forward relevant suggestions on cultural testing and culture teaching.The results show that the cultural factors in HSK(Level 4-6)are unevenly distributed,and the proportion of communicative cultural factors in the test questions is significantly lower than that of intellectual cultural factors.Cultural factors are presented in a variety of ways,mainly in the form of words.It can be seen from the survey that the cultural factors in the HSK test questions have a certain positive impact on the cultural learning of the examinees,but most of the examinees still have a vague impression of the cultural factors in the test questions.In addition,cultural factors appearing in different question types also have different influences on students.Through the above research,this thesis hopes to explore the distribution of cultural factors in HSK(Level 4-6)and their influence on Chinese learners’ cultural learning,and provide some reference for the arrangement of cultural test in HSK and the cultural teaching in International Chinese language education.
