| Altruism is an act of helping others out of one’s own will without the need for feedback.Altruism is an important factor affecting the physical and mental development of individuals. It not only contributes to the individual’s self-development,but also plays an important role in building a harmonious and friendly society.Left-behind children themselves are a relatively vulnerable group of children. They live in areas with relatively backward economic development, are separated from their parents for a long time, and lack of companionship from their parents. As a result, their altruistic behavior develops at a low level, and they are extremely prone to adverse psychological and behavioral problems.Based on previous studies on altruistic behavior, this study comprehensively investigated the current situation and related influencing factors of left-behind children’s altruistic behavior, and used empathy counseling to intervene in the altruistic behavior of left-behind children,so as to promote the good development of the altruistic behavior of left-behind children. This study took some left-behind children in primary and secondary schools as the research object, and studied the altruistic behaviors of left-behind children by means of questionnaire survey and empathy counseling. This study divided into three parts. In the first part, the altruistic behavior Self-Report Scale is used to understand the current situation and characteristics of left-behind children’s altruistic behavior. In the second part,680 left-behind children were tested by Altruistic Behavior Self-Report Scale,Revised Basic Empathy Scale and Revised Adolescent Moral Judgment Questionnaire.SPSS25.0 was used to verify the mediating role of moral judgment between altruistic behavior and empathy of left-behind children. The third part studied the experimental intervention of empathy tutoring on the altruistic behavior of left-behind children.Based on the above three studies, the following results are obtained:(1)The level of altruistic behavior of left-behind children is generally low, indicating that the development of altruistic behavior of left-behind children is poor, and they need professional psychological help.(2)There are significant differences in the altruistic behaviors of left-behind children in terms of gender, grade, place of origin and whether they are the only child.(3)There is a significant positive correlation between left-behind children’s altruistic behavior and empathy and moral judgment.Empathy and moral judgment can positively predict altruistic behavior.Empathy can influence altruistic behavior either directly or indirectly through moral judgments. The moral judgment of left-behind children partially mediates the relationship between altruism and empathy.(4)This empathy psychological counseling effectively improves the level of altruistic behavior of left-behind children, and has an immediate and sustainable effect. Conclusion: This study suggests that left-behind children are less inclined to altruistic behavior, and empathy can not only directly affect the altruistic behavior of left-behind children, but also indirectly affect the altruistic behavior through moral judgment.Empathy psychological counseling can effectively improve the level of altruistic behavior of left-behind children and promote their healthy growth. |
