Ceremony plays a role of teaching and enlightenment to people,and ceremonial education is an educational activity that affects and regulates people.The most primitive dragon dance takes dragon as carrier,integrating physical practice into religious rituals or festival celebrations,athletics that used to homogeneous with sacrificial activity has strongly ritualized characteristics since ancient times.Dragon dance experienced the evolution of sacrifices,amuse god,performances,and competitions,and gradually become a dragon dance sport that is very popular among people.Ceremony education widely exists in college education and play an important educational role.Modern dragon dance sports have been widely carried out in colleges and universities,and obvious ceremonial education exists in the training and competitions.However,there is a lack of accurate understanding of the educational value of rituals and how to make full use of rituals to achieve educational results in the process of education.This study adopts the literature material method,interview method,participate in observation,etc.,basing on theoretical explanation of " Rites of passage " by Fan Gen Knapp and Turner,it takes dragon dance sports team of H University as participation and observation subject.Taking college ceremonial education as a research perspective,with the help of " Rites of passage " theory,this study analyzes its relationship with sports competition and dragon dance sport,it is considered that the dragon dance competition is a carrier for the ceremonial education of the dragon dance sports team in colleges and universities.During the " Rites of passage " process,the athletes have experienced identity peel and training hood in the front-threshold phase;the threshold stage is involved in the sacred space,feel the collective excitement,get a higher competitive level;in the post-threshold limit phase,cross of threshold and new role transformation were reached through reflection and surpass;the entire process can reflect the growth process of dragon dance athletes of H university in a full view.Through the participation observation of the three phases,the recording materials were obtained,and the various ceremonial education phenomena exhibited in the growth of H university’ Dragon dance sports team was statistically processed,and the meaning and value of its ceremonial education was explained.The researching results show that in the front-threshold limit phase,the college dragon dance team has ceremonies like line up ceremony,collection and warm-up ceremony during training,dragon tools placement,etc.;in the threshold,ceremonies include sortie ceremony,the opening ceremony,make the finishing point ceremony,the lottery ceremony at the competition,award ceremony,etc.;in the post-threshold limit phase,there are summary meeting ceremony and decommission ceremony.The value for the college and university dragon dance sports team to carry out ceremonial education includes: 1.Improve the enthusiasm of the athletes in training process;2.Improve the management level of the dragon dance sports team;3.Promote teamwork cultivation of dragon dance sports team;4.It is beneficial to the cultural heritage of dragon dance and carry forward the traditional sports culture of the nation.The countermeasures for college and university dragon dace sports team to carry out ceremonial education are as following points: 1.With the players as the main body,the coach is the main body;2.Reasonable use of the ceremony to carry out time and space;3.Good at discovering ritual symbols;4.Avoid formalist rituals.
