Review Practice Report Of Introduction To Tea Science Based On YiCAT And SDL Trados

YiCAT and Trados are widely used computer-aided translation tools in the market,both of which contain the review function.Review is a significant part of translation and it plays an important role in improving translation quality.As tea science texts are characterized by a large number of terms and long and difficult sentences,the review efficiency can be improved with the aid of YiCAT and Trados.Based on the Chinese-English translation project of Chapter 15 in Introduction to Tea Science,this report explores the similarities and differences of review between YiCAT and Trados platform,analyzes the limitations of the review function based on the platforms,discusses the review strategies of computer-aided translation based on the project and the platforms,and puts forward some suggestions on platform review and applicability of platform to the translation text.From the perspective of platform functions,there are similarities and differences between YiCAT and Trados,and each has its own advantages.YiCAT and Trados are roughly the same in terms of the function area of review and the call of termbases and translation memories,but their specific review mode and QA function are different.In addition,based on this translation practice,Trados has more advantages in translation memory,while YiCAT has stronger operability.From the perspective of translation quality,when YiCAT and Trados are used for review,they have limitations in terms of dealing with vocabulary errors,sentence errors,and cohesion and coherence errors,which require reviewers to adopt appropriate strategies to complete translation.Combining the Chinese-English translation project,this report mainly explores the review work based on YiCAT and Trados,and computer-aided translation review strategies.This report can provide some references for translators and translation companies to choose computer-aided translation tools,which has some theoretical values and practical significance.However,the breadth and depth of this report remains to be strengthened.Look forward to further studies on computer-aided translation tools by follow-up researchers.
