A Study Of Folk Vocabulary In Reminiscences Of The Eastern Capital

Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital is a note style prose written by Meng Yuanlao.It describes in detail the urban style,customs,and culture of Bianliang,the capital city of the Northern Song Dynasty,with reminiscent strokes.Creating a new genre of recording social customs and with notes,which has important reference value for studying the political,economic,and cultural aspects of the Northern Song Dynasty.Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital is a comprehensive and rich narrative,with vivid descriptions of language,using a large number of spoken and dialect words,which truly reflects the language of the Song Dynasty,and has high corpus value.This article selects Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital as the research object.Starting from the perspective of folk vocabulary,it comprehensively utilizes the theories of folk linguistics and cultural linguistics to organize and analyze the folk vocabulary in the work,and interprets the cultural connotation behind it.The article is mainly divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,which defines folk vocabulary,introduces the author,circulating version,research status,research methods,and research significance of Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital.The first chapter is an overview of the folk vocabulary in Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital.The folk vocabulary is divided into three categories: material folk vocabulary,behavioral folk vocabulary,and conceptual folk vocabulary.Using comprehensive literature analysis and quantitative statistics,the folk vocabulary in the work is summarized and explained,and the specific number and proportion of various folk vocabulary are counted.On this basis,the characteristics of the folk vocabulary in the work are analyzed.The second chapter is the elaboration of the way in which folk vocabulary and folk images are carried in Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital.It is mainly divided into four categories: general reference to folk events,specific statement of folk events,and the expression of folk events,as well as refractive reflection of folk features.The third chapter is the exploration of the development and evolution of folk vocabulary in Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital.Based on the classification of folk vocabulary,this paper selects the distinctive folk vocabulary from these three categories to explore its evolution process.The fourth chapter is an analysis of the cultural connotation of folk vocabulary in Reminiscences of the Eastern Capital.Combining the perspective of cultural linguistics,this paper analyzes the cultural connotations behind folk vocabulary,which are the material life level,social system level,and cultural psychological level.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the issues studied in this article.
