The value of documentary film is to know the world,to know life and to understand life,and its mission is to "explain history,clarify choices and promote mutual understanding among human beings".No matter what ways and means are used to express the theme,"people" are always the core value subject in documentaries.In recent years,with the development of the new media era,the concept of creation of people documentary is also constantly developing and upgrading.The narrative perspective is gradually changing from macro to micro,the content expression is also transformed from the "fly on the wall" type of stereotypical record to the story-based narrative,the storytelling narrative of people documentary has become a It is also a major means and an important strategy to improve the visibility and storytelling of documentaries.This paper aims to explore the unique charm of interdisciplinary collision in the creation process,to capture typical three-dimensional characters and their life scenes in a storytelling narrative,and to discover the dramatic conflicts and details in the documentary under the premise of authenticity.In this study,the author’s graduation work "Dai Yan and His Shuttlecock Dream" is combined with the creation practice of the documentary to explain in detail the storytelling and dramatization techniques in the creation of character documentaries.Theoretically and practically,it will provide some theoretical and practical values for the future creation of character documentaries.
