| The globalization of knowledge economy accelerates the international mobility of academic talents,and the ensuing research on talent competition and brain drain is in the ascendant.However,the historical rule of the international mobility of academic talents has not been fully studied.According to many studies,the history of international mobility of academic talents can be traced back to 1088,after the birth of the University of Bologna,and 1640 is the beginning of the bourgeois revolution in England,it was regarded as the end of the Middle Ages.Therefore,this study mainly investigates the historical logic of the international mobility of academic talents from1088 to 1640,in order to clarify the historical context of international mobility of academic talents.In this study,1,030 academic talents born between 1033 and 1600 were selected as research objects,and their birth year,country,study experience,work experience and other information were investigated by using curriculum vitae analysis,and the International Mobility Database of Academic Talents from 1088 to 1640 were created.Through the description and statistics of the data,this paper explores the characteristics of the international mobility of academic talents.By establishing the binary Logistic regression model,the factors affecting the international mobility of academic talents are explored.By using push and pull theory to analysis the dynamic mechanism of the international mobility of academic talents.The results are as follows.First,the scale of international mobility of academic talents increases in a fluctuating manner;the number of international mobility frequency is one;the mobility rate varies greatly between different eras and disciplines;Italy and France have always been the first places for academic talents to period is small but rising;the average international academic frequency is one;in the13 th century,the rate of international mobility is the most prominent;circulation flow in France,Italy and Germany is the main path for academic talents to word across borders;international mobility cycle has a large dispersion.Second,family origin,birth region,urban development of destination,and institutional reputation had a great impact on the international mobility of academic talents during the semester and working period from 1088 to 1640.In addition,education background,religion and salary had a great impact on the international mobility of academic talents from 1088 to 1640,while cultural tolerance did not affect the international mobility of academic talents from 1088 to 1640.The comprehensive analysis results show that,the attraction of prototype university on academic talent can be offset by the quality of educational resources in the place of birth during the semester period,the attraction of higher urban development level of academic talents can be eroded by the good family background and lose its effect during the working period.Third,international mobility stems from the game of various influencing factors.The same influencing factors have different effects on different academic talents.The combination structure of flow gain and flow loss affects the international mobility of academic talents.Fierce external competition and favorable mobility policies promote the international mobility of academic talents.The international mobility behavior of academic talents continues up to now,showing a strong historical consistency.For example,salary and institutional reputation always play a key role,weak countries still face the severe challenge of brain drain.But there are some differences in the times.For example,the influence of religion on the international mobility of academic talents is reduced,and the stability of academic career is increased,resulting in fewer talents flowing out of the academic profession,the proportion of international mobility of female teachers has increased.According to the above analysis,putting forward some enlightenment such as expanding the recruitment channels for university teachers;setting up diversified strategies of higher education development;improving the salary system for university teachers;highlighting the educational concept of academic freedom;grasping the wave of international academic mobility,which can raise the international level of Chinese universities and reduce the international loss of teachers in universities. |
