Under the background of internationalization of railway development,the training and exchange of railway professionals has also shifted from domestic exchanges to international exchanges and cooperation.The English translation of talent training programs in railway colleges and universities is helpful for foreign experts,teachers and international students to understand the targeted courses,talent training policies and directions of railway majors,and plays an important role in promoting the international exchange of teaching in colleges and universities.The author chooses Wuhan Railway Vocational and Technical College’s Training Program for Urban Rail Transit Communication and Signal Professionals as the original text for translation practice.The original text consists of 15 chapters,with a total of 16,302 words,including the basic requirements for admission,career orientation,training objectives and standards,work tasks and professional ability analysis,training mode,curriculum,class schedule,academic performance,overall arrangement of teaching process,implementation guarantee,and expert argumentation opinions on professional construction,etc.The author undertakes full-text translation of the training syllabus.The author makes technical analysis and skill induction on the translation process,aiming at experiencing a more systematic translation workflow through real translation practice tasks.By combining specific cases in translation practice,this paper analyzes the translation strategies and methods of different language phenomena in railway transport texts,such as terms,parallel structures,subject ellipsis sentences and parallel structures.At the same time,in view of the specific difficulties encountered in the translation process,such as the translation of terms,China-specific vocabulary and category words,the translation of sentences without subject and compound sentence,and the problem of coherence in the text translation,the author adopt the translation strategy of giving priority to communicative translation and supplementing semantic translation,and based on the theory of adaptation,starting from the dimension of contextual adaptation.At the same time,under the guidance of the two translation strategies,the author uses addition,omission,rewriting,adding subject,using passive voice,segmentation and reconstruction.Choosing appropriate translation strategies and methods to make the translation accurately convey the information content of the original text is helpful to realize the information and incentive functions of educational texts.Finally,the author reflects on this translation task and points out the direction of future efforts.Firstly,after text analysis,the translator needs to understand that translation should aim at accurately conveying information.According to the expected purpose and function of the translation,the translator should flexibly choose translation strategies of domestication or foreignization,and appropriately adopt translation methods such as addition,omission,modification and literal translation,so as to achieve intralingual coherence and interlingual coherence between the target language and the source language,thus successfully achieving the purpose of information-based text translation.Secondly,the original text has obvious characteristics of railway transportation,and its professionalism and comprehensiveness are strong.Successful translation depends on solid bilingual skills,daily accumulation and a lot of practice in the professional field.
