French Impressionist music is an important music genre of western music.It helps western music to develop from the Romantic era to an Impressionism era by using the hazy and florid melodies and ever-changing.Impressionist Debussy who was considered as a leading figure promoted Impressionist music to the peak of the times.His impressionism piano works were very representative among many impressionism pieces.Estampes was an important composition of Debussy in his mature period,which consisted of three pieces-Pagodes,La soirée dans Grenade and Jardins sous la pluie.All of them were exquisitely structured and highly exotic containing high aesthetic value and artistic value.This paper includes four sections.The first chapter introduces the emergence and development of Debussy’s impressionistic thinking and creation of his piano works.The second chapter elaborates the original relationship between Estamps and Japanese prints and analyses Japanese print collection techniques that were referenced in this three pieces mentioned above.The third chapter analyses the music structure of these three pieces.The fourth chapter summarizes the playing skills of Estamps by combining Debussy’s playing practice and different artistic styles of these three pieces.
