On The Folk Narration Of Yan Lianke’s Novels

Chinese modern and contemporary literature and folklore are closely related.In the same historical and cultural context,the two constantly communicate and talk.As an organic component of daily life,folklore plays an important role in reflecting the social and cultural features of a specific period and a specific region.To examine Chinese modern and contemporary literature from the perspective of folklore can provide a new perspective for the study of Chinese modern and contemporary literature.In the history of Chinese contemporary literature,Yan Lianke,a writer of Henan nationality,is a presence that cannot be ignored.He always focuses his attention on the land of Central Plains that nourishes him and shows the vigorous vitality of the villagers in Central Plains.Yan Lianke’s description of the unique geographical environment and folk customs of Henan makes his novels have a unique artistic charm.Through a large number of folk customs writing,the author reveals to the readers the living conditions of the people at the bottom of the rural patriarchal system in Henan Province,and thus deeply criticizes and reflects on the rural political power culture.Taking Yan Lianke’s novels as the research object,this paper explores the significance and value of folklore narration in Yan Lianke’s novels from the perspective of folklore.This paper is mainly divided into three parts,namely the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction part mainly combs the research status of Yan Lianke’s novels,clarifies the research ideas and methods of this paper,defines the concept of folklore narrative and clarifies the content of Yan Lianke’s folklore narrative.The main part is divided into three chapters.The first chapter traces back to the source and introduces the influence of the folk customs in the Central Plains on Yan Lianke’s literary creation,which is mainly analyzed from three aspects:world view,creation view and folk stance.The folk culture of the Central Plains has influenced Yan Lianke’s creation imperceptible,which makes his novels full of strong earthen atmosphere.Folk culture is not only the starting point of Yan Lianke’s novel creation but also the final destination,which embodies the cultural appeal and concern for reality in the reflection of revolutionary significance.The second chapter discusses the main content of folklore narration in Yan Lianke’s novels.The first is to analyze the folk life style of the Central Plains,through the selection of the marriage customs and funerals of the central Plains of the two most representative social customs,the study of Yan Lianke to the May Fourth Enlightenment spirit of the restatement.The second is to explore Yan Lianke’s exploration of the meaning of life when he wrote the psychology of Central Plains folk customs.Yan Lianke’s view of folklore psychology permeates the whole process of novel creation,which makes folklore narration possess stable force to support the development of story.The third is to study the folk character image formed in the Central Plains bureaucrat standard culture.Yan Lianke discloses the alienation of human nature,but also shows the ardent expectation of transforming the national soul.The third chapter studies the artistic features of Yan Lianke’s folk narrative.The first is to analyze the abnormal narrative perspective of the narrative of the dead.The narrative of the dead neither has the excessive idealization color of the elite narrative,nor abandons the absolute good and evil in the political narrative,which is highly consistent with the text structure.Second,it reveals the artistic value added to the novel by such narrative structures as nightmare structure and Suoyuan structure.Third,it reveals the influence of Central Plains opera language on the narrative rhythm of the novel.The regional narrative language expands the narrative space of Yan Lianke’s novels and makes the novel produce a refreshing narrative effect.The conclusion summarizes the artistic techniques and aesthetic functions of Yan Lianke’s folk narrative in his novels,places Yan Lianke in the current literary world,discusses how writers realize self-transcendence,and endows folk narrative with unique significance and value.
