Study On The Minimalist Style Of Sanyu’s Oil Painting

Sanyu was one of the earliest French painters in China in the early 20 th century.He insisted on the idea of "going his own way,not faking the world" and created freely and independently.With the wide attention of modern art,the modernity,avant-garde and fusion style of China and the West in Sanyu’s works are recognized by the art world and the art market,and are called "Matisse of China" and "Modigliani of the East".Sanyu was inspired to paint by his father when he was a child.Zhao Xi’s talent and spirit had a far-reaching impact on Sanyu,laying the foundation of Sanyu’s western painting with the connotation of traditional Oriental aesthetics.During his youth,Sanyu studied in Shanghai and Japan,where he came into contact with Western Modernist painting and formed a certain sense of modernity.During his study in Paris,Sanyu was influenced by French Fauvism,Cubism and other painting schools,and formed a unique “Sanyu style” through the exploration of art.In Sanyu’s oil paintings,there are not only the lines and composition of Chinese traditional aesthetics,but also the freedom and abstraction of Western modern art.This study takes Sanyu oil painting as the research object,analyzes from four aspects:simple and bold lines,abstract and exaggerated modeling,simple laid color blocks and flat composition,and comments on its minimalist style.The minimalist style presents the aesthetic feeling of the minimalist form through the expression forms of simplified lines,single and flat color setting,flat composition and so on.The simplest visual experience allows the viewer to understand the content of the work and the emotional world of the artist,showing the ultimate purity of artistic vitality.The minimalist style of Sanyu’s oil painting,with strong performance and abstractness,conveys his attitude towards life,aesthetic pursuit and emotional catharsis.This style enriched the artistic language of modern oil painting and opened up the development road of modern oil painting in the world,to which Sanyu made outstanding contributions.
