Du Jun Evaluates Research On Li Yu’s Novels And Dramas

Du Jun made preface and comments for a number of Li Yu’s novels and dramas,and left rich content of comments.As an appreciation of Li Yu’s works,Du Jun evaluated the creative skills and ideological connotation of Li Yu’s novels and dramas from readers’ perspective.As a writer of appraisal,Du Jun showed his own appraisal style and aesthetic pursuit in appraisal.At the same time,this form of criticism has its unique value and significance.The text of this paper is divided into four parts:The first part of this thesis mainly evaluates to Li Yu’s fiction drama narration theory.Du Jun discovered Li Yu’s narration skills and tactics from his fine points.Although most of these writings were loose and fragmented,they contained the rudiments of Du Jun’s creative theory.Li Yu attaches great importance to the novelty of the purpose and the rigor of the structure in his creation,showing his superb narrative skills.Du Jun’s mastery of his creative skills in Li Yu’s novels and dramas demonstrated his keen intuition on theoretical consciousness as a reviewer.The second part analyzes Du Jun’s acceptance of Li Yu’s fiction drama theory.Du Jun’s assessment showed that he integrated with Li Yu’s theory connotation.Du Jun accepted Li Yu’s "silent drama" theory,and applied the term "drama theory" in his fiction criticism,while observing his fiction writing with his opera theory."Amalgamation of romance and Taoism" was Li Yu’s creative thought and his living philosophy.Du Jun appreciated and recognized this fact very much,and revealed Li Yu’s creative purpose of "advocating scriptures with popular language,and connecting with persistent ignorance with insatiable laughter".Fiction and drama revealed two distinct stylistic characteristics of narration,namely the truth recording and fiction.Du Jun had an accurate understanding of the truth recording value of Li Yu’s novels and the fiction nature of drama.The third part mainly explores Du Jun’s characteristics of commenting on Li Yu’s novels and dramas.Du Jun’s comments on Li Yu’s novels and dramas contained subjective consciousness.Du Jun appraised Li Yu’s novels and dramas with literati perspective and writing style,and his works revealed strong literati atmosphere and adopted "Yuan Opera" as the standard of drama evaluation.Du Jun’s comments also reflected his aesthetic pursuit for fiction and drama.His comments focused on the blend of elegance and vulgarity in the language,the strangeness of the content,and the perfection of emotion.The fourth part mainly discusses the value of Du Jun assessment.Comments are always attached to the text in front of readers,but they still have independent meaning and value.In the process of reading and appreciation,the reviewer completes the interpretation of the meaning of the reviewed text,promotes the dissemination of the text and forms the theoretical connotation closely in line with the work.
