The spread and development of Buddhism in Guangxi has experienced a long course. With the continuous expansion of the faithful base, the temple is becoming more and more prosperous. In the Qing Dynasty, there were monasteries in all government-level districts in Guangxi, but the number of monasteries in each region was uneven, showing a trend of gradually decreasing from east to west, which was influenced by many factors such as geographical environment and economic level. As the material basis of the temple economy for the survival and development of the temple, the existence of the monks and the daily operation of the temple must be supported by a large amount of material wealth. In the Qing Dynasty, the main sources of income in Guangxi were: the reward of the state and the government, the management and management of the temple land, the alms of believers and the income from various Buddhist activities. The income and expenditure of the temple constitute the balance of financial revenue and expenditure of the Buddhist temple. The expenditure is mainly to maintain its own operation and further development. The expenditure is mainly divided into four aspects: tax,the daily operation cost of the temple, the repair and maintenance of the temple, and the social expenditure of the temple. The development of temple economy also shows obvious characteristics: land tenancy;secsecancy. Therefore, the temple economy and the secular economy both restrict and influence each other, and the moderate religious consumption also promotes the communication between the religious organizations and the secular social production in various fields. The Qing Dynasty was the decline period of Buddhism and temple economy. As religion gradually developed and grew under the protection of the secular regime,Buddhism and temple economy could not be immune when the country was in danger. The secularization of Buddhism makes Buddhism closer to the society and helps Buddhism to expand its social influence. However, the temple also has conflicts of interests and contradictions with the secular society due to the management of the temple property. However, generally speaking, the continuous expansion of the economic foundation of the temple has also made a certain contribution to the development of the society and related culture and art.
