Migration activities have a long history in China, among which migration activities in the modern period are more representative, and the wave of migration from Shandong,Shanxi,Henan,Hebei and other places in the customs to outside Shanhaiguan in modern times is unprecedented in terms of scale and duration. From the perspective of historical geography,it is precisely such migration activities that have led to the large-scale development of the middle and lower reaches of the Liaohe River and even the entire northeast of China, promoting the development of local economy and society.According to time clues, from the first year of the Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty to modern times, the occurrence of migration activities in the middle and lower reaches of the Liao River has roughly experienced the process of recruitment and reclamation-implementation of banning-partial opening of the ban-comprehensive lifting of the ban-recruitment of people and real border areas, and the decline of population caused by war.The main reason for the formation of this migration phenomenon,in addition to the support of government policies at that time,is the result of the "push and pull" effect of the place of migration and the place of migration.Under the influence of migration, social management in the middle and lower reaches of the Liaohe River has been deepened, and the development of agriculture, industry and commerce has promoted the rise of coastal belt urban agglomerations. In the process of enriching and integrating into local social groups, these immigrants have brought vitality to local development, made outstanding historical achievements in resisting foreign invasion, defending their homeland and building Northeast China, and played an important role in forging the sense of community of the Chinese nation and promoting the integration of various ethnic cultures.
