| The cliff carvings of the Hexi Corridor are an important part of the history and culture of the Hexi Corridor,and also an important historical material for studying the history,culture and military affairs of the Hexi Corridor.According to historical records and field investigations,a total of 21 cliff carvings were sorted out,and 5were killed,of which 4 were newly found in Dahonggou Village,Haxi Town,Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County,Wuwei City,and 4 cliff carvings that were not found in historical records.From the perspective of subject matter,the cliff carvings in the Hexi corridor cover Buddhist themes,military themes,cultural themes,etc.,and from the content point of view,they are mainly based on Buddhist scriptures and famous official inscriptions.The cliff carvings of the Hexi Corridor objectively reflect the social conditions of the Hexi Corridor in various periods.The Hexi Corridor is an important passage of the ancient Silk Road,where various cultures meet,and cultural exchanges provide rich content and forms for cliff carvings.The Hexi corridor has complex geological structure,staggered landforms,and different hardness of rock formations,which provides different carving materials and techniques for cliff carvings,and is located inland,dry and rainless,which is conducive to the preservation of cliff carvings.The cliff carvings of the Hexi Corridor are distributed in Wuwei,Jinchang,Zhangye and Jiujia,most of which are related to military and religion,and some of the cliff carvings involve natural phenomena and geographical environment.The military cliffs of the Hexi Corridor include the cliff carvings of Xiakou in Shandan County,the cliff carvings of Gulangxia in Gulang County and the cliff carvings of "North Desert Dust Qing" in Jiayuguan,etc.,combined with the analysis of the stone carvings "Lock Control Jinchuan","Mountains and Rivers Extremely Dangerous","Northern Desert Dust Qing" and historical background,reflecting the change of border problems in the Hexi Corridor from tension to relaxation from Ming Jiajing to Wanli;The Buddhist cliffs include Yangga Gorge cliff carvings,Shengrong Temple cliff carvings,Shimen Temple cliff carvings and Dahonggou cliff carvings,combined with historical materials,to understand the spread and development of Tibetan Buddhism in the Hexi corridor.Hexi Corridor cliff carvings are an important part of the cultural heritage of Hexi region,providing important historical materials for supplementing and studying local history,but due to the influence of natural factors and man-made damage,the cliff carvings in Hexi Corridor are damaged and lost.Therefore,establishing and improving protection laws and regulations and strengthening publicity are effective measures to protect the cliff carvings in the Hexi Corridor. |
