As one of the important high-level neural functions of the brain,memory preserves all the information that people know,and understanding the encoding and consolidation of memory is the key to understanding human cognition and behavior.When an individual is confronted with a complex scene stimulus,a large amount of visual information enters the retina and is characterized in the primary visual cortex of the brain.Subsequently,this unstable information is consolidated by visual working memory,and fragile sensory representations are transformed into stable visual working memory representations that are not disturbed by other information.The consolidation process directly determines the project information that is further stored and manipulated.The mechanism of visual working memory consolidation plays an important role in the visual working memory system,but how information temporarily preserved in visual working memory is stored and accessed after a long delay remains a controversial issue.In this paper,we take primary school students as the research object,adopt the basic attribute forgetting paradigm,and design three studies to explore the influence of visual working memory consolidation effect on long-term memory recognition.Experiment 1 adopts a single-factor intra-group experimental design with consolidation time(with consolidation time,no consolidation time),and the participants in the initial stimulus recognition task identify the target items under two conditions,and then present the participants with an unexpected re-recognition test,that is,compare the correct recognition rate of the learned items under the two conditions in the delayed recognition task.It is found that there is a significant difference in the correct recognition rate of the two conditions in different tasks.In the stimulus recognition task,the correct rate of identifying the target item under the condition of no consolidation was higher,but when the delayed recognition task was accidentally re-recognized,the long-term memory of the item consolidated by visual working memory was significantly better than the long-term memory of the item without visual working memory consolidation,that is,the participant could recall the target item more accurately and confidently in long-term memory recognition when consolidating through visual working memory.Study 2 is divided into two parts,and the contextual information of the project is further divided on the basis of Study 1.The study was divided into two stages: stimulus recognition task and delayed recognition task.Study 2a used the internal design of special context consolidation(control group,internal context consolidation,external context consolidation)to find that in the stimulus recognition task,there was no significant difference between the correct recognition rate of items based on the visual working memory consolidation based on special internal context,external context and control conditions,and there was a significant difference in the correct recognition rate of the three conditions in the delayed recognition task.The results show that visual working memory consolidation based on special contexts can improve long-term memory recognition in projects.Study 2b used the internal design of general context consolidation(control group,intrinsic context consolidation,extrinsic context consolidation),and found that there was no significant difference in the correct recognition rate of items consolidated in the stimulus recognition task,and there was a significant difference in the delayed recognition task.The results show that the visual working memory consolidation based on general context cannot effectively improve long-term memory recognition,but the long-term memory recognition performance of the general external context consolidation project is better than that of the general internal context consolidation project.This study mainly concluded the following:(1)Long-term memory recognition can be improved through visual working memory consolidation.(2)Through the consolidation of visual working memory in special contexts,the long-term memory recognition performance of the project is better;(3)Through the consolidation of visual working memory in general context,long-term memory recognition did not show advantages;Based on the general external context consolidation project,the long-term memory recognition performance is better than the recognition performance of general internal context consolidation. |
