A Research On Marx’s Free Time Thought And Its Contemporary Value

Based on the perspective of Marxist dialectical materialism,this thesis conducts a thematic study on Marx’s theory of free time.By studying Marxist classic works and relevant literature,it traces the development and context of Marx’s theory of free time,explores its main content,summarizes its distinct theoretical characteristics,and discusses the enlightening significance of Marx’s theory of free time for socialist modernization,in order to present an overall picture of Marx’s theory of free time.First of all,the thesis traces the development and context of Marx’s theory of free time.Taking Marx’s relevant works as the clue,it outlines the process of the theory’s evolution from a perception of free time based on sensuality to a perspective on labor’s free time,and finally to a perspective on social free time.Secondly,based on the dimensions of social attribute,social acquisition,practical enjoyment,and life experience,the main content of Marx’s theory of free time is analyzed and interpreted.Thirdly,building upon the main content,the thesis summarizes and concludes the four distinct characteristics contained in Marx’s free time theory,namely the unity of science and humanity,the unity of criticality and constructivism,the unity of ideality and reality,and the unity of historicity and subjectivity,so as to deepen the understanding of the theory.Finally,the thesis analyzes the phenomena of commodification,capitalization,and nihilization manifested in contemporary social free time,and probes into the practical enlightenment of Marx’s free time theory on the creation,enjoyment and rational utilization of free time for socialist modernization construction.
