Research On The Cultural Inheritance And Design Innovation Of Stone Carving Techniques In Hui’an,Fujian

With a glorious history,the carving techniques and culture of Hui’an stone carving have been passed on and evolved for thousands of years,which are relevant for the research of stone carving culture in China and the inheritance of traditional handicraft culture.The technique of Hui’an stone carving is one of the unique cultural symbols in Fujian Province,which embodies the creativity and wisdom of the Hui’an people,reflects traditional Chinese aesthetic concepts and tastes,and has great artistic value.It has become a unique part of Minnan(Southern Fujian)culture with rich regional characteristics and cultural connotations.As the contemporary information technology developed by leaps and bounds,both in terms of the inheritance of traditional culture and the creativity of stone carving work,it should focus more on pursuing new directions for development of techniques of Hui’an stone carving.Hui’an stone carving technology has been incorporated into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.To inherit and innovate it,it is imperative to not only use creative works that keep pace with the time as a material carrier,but also inherit its regional culture as an intangible subject.They are complementary and serve as conditions for each other in order to preserve the vigorous vitality of Fujian Hui’an stone carving culture.This article intends to inherit the intangible cultural heritage of Hui’an stone carving techniques in Fujian Province,and systematically summarizes its formation conditions,development process,design style,technical types,and functional classification.It analyzes cultural value contained in Hui’an stone carving techniques from three perspectives: local life culture,marine culture,and religious beliefs in Hui’an.Analyzing the development status of Hui’an stone carving technology through field research and discussing the advantages brought about by its long history and mature craftsmanship,the difficulties intensified by technological innovation and creatively bankrupt,the opportunities generated by government support and related policies,and the challenges posed by inheritance and talent cultivation.In light of the foregoing,this study proposes suggestions for extracting visual symbols,continuing aesthetic features,protecting special crafts,and exploring inheritance methods for the future inheritance direction of Hui’an stone carving techniques.Finally,proposing innovative strategies for the future design direction of Hui’an stone carving by modern design theory and combining examples to analyze the ways of integrating culture,the application of design principles,and the innovation of design concepts.This article uses fieldwork,literature research,and case analysis methods to conduct in-depth interviews with inheritors and practitioners of Hui’an stone carving techniques,explore the history and culture of Hui’an stone carving,explore the development of Hui’an stone carving,and provide some reference for the future inheritance and innovation of Hui’an stone carving in the form of modern design innovation strategies.At the same time,the author hopes to supplement the gaps in academic research on the cultural inheritance and design innovation of Hui’an stone carving techniques,so as to further promote the promotion and protection of traditional stone carving culture,and contribute strategies conducive to the inheritance of traditional techniques and traditional culture from the perspective of design.
