Research On Herbal Culture Hand-Illustrated Book Creation In "Bencao Hui"

Hand-drawn illustrated books have the creative characteristic of being relaxed and spontaneous,and are very popular among young people.In recent years,"handbook" illustrated books have become one of the popular products in the market.Using the form of "handbook" illustrated books to express the "Compendium of Materia Medica" can enhance the interest and spreadability of traditional literature.This research takes the hand-drawn expression of "Compendium of Materia Medica" as the theme,integrates the form and characteristics of the hand-drawn illustrated book with the morphology and characteristics of the herbs in the "Compendium of Materia Medica",and combines theory with practice to study the creative ideas and methods of the illustrated book,including the creation of the text and the creation of the painting.First,the creative concept,development history,and technical characteristics of "handbook" illustrated books were systematically sorted out,and the creation of the herbal illustrated book in "Herbal Sketches" was studied based on the traditional Chinese herbal culture.The research path of this creation was determined.Secondly,targeted market research was conducted based on the research theme,and the data was analyzed and argued to clarify the creative goals.The research on "handbook" illustrated books and other related illustrated books was deeply studied,and excellent cases both domestically and abroad were analyzed.Four series of creative themes were selected.In the third part,based on the research foundation,the practice of creating "Compendium of Materia Medica" was carried out.Four series of 16 illustrations were created in the form of "handbook" illustrated books,and techniques were used to integrate watercolor painting,Chinese painting,collage,etc.The combination of form and expression,realism and freehand brushwork,color and ink,pursued a peaceful and elegant painting style,and matched and highlighted the characteristics of this type of herbal medicine,achieving the expected creative effect.Through theoretical and practical research,it is pointed out that the expression of traditional Chinese herbal medicine themes through "handbook" illustrated books is novel in form,convenient to carry,and the picture language is vivid and interesting,creating conditions for instant reading.Whether it is based on illustrated book creation or the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture,it has significant significance.
