Due to the innovation of English education mode in colleges and universities and the rapid development and wide application of Internet technology,the scale of users of online English learning in colleges and universities is getting bigger and bigger,which makes online English learning in colleges and universities gradually become a trend.The main form of online English teaching is the Internet teaching,and the interface is the carrier and the way,and the important factor that affects the user’s online learning behavior and effect is the merit of the interface design.This study takes the existing online English learning interface on the market as the entry point,uses visual cognitive theory as the theoretical support,combines eye-movement experiments and questionnaires to summarize users’ visual cognition and perception of the interface when learning on the online English platform,and proposes improved interface design strategies to further enhance users’ learning motivation and effectiveness,improve the teaching effect of the interface,and enhance the user experience.This will further improve users’ learning motivation and effectiveness,improve the teaching effect of the interface,and enhance user experience.This paper discusses the background,significance and purpose of this study,and summarizes the current status of research on visual cognitive theory and its research in the interface field,summarizes and composes the literature,analyzes it by combining theory with actual cases,and provides a suitable research method.The theories and related concepts involved in the study are described,including the principles related to interface design,visual cognitive theory,visual information theory and visual memory,visual thinking,and visual information communication,to provide a theoretical basis for the study.Through the investigation of the interface of the current university English online learning platform on the market and the research subjects,the influence of the interface design of the university English online learning platform on users’ learning effect and learning behavior is analyzed,the direction of this interface design is determined,and the influence of the interface design of the existing university English online learning platform on users’ visual cognition is tested by using eye-movement test and questionnaire survey,and the experimental data We analyze the experimental data,analyze the differences from a scientific and objective perspective,and summarize the advantages and shortcomings of the interface design of online college English learning,so as to provide data support for optimizing the interface design.This paper combines the relevant data analysis with the five aspects of visual memory,imagination,attention,perception and user experience,and elaborates on the visual representation strategy,information cognition strategy,information structure strategy,feedback strategy and system management strategy.The core strategy of this thesis is the visual representation strategy.The information structure strategy can guide the visual representation of the interface,and the visual representation strategy can also guide the information cognition of the user,which are on the cue layer and the structure layer of the interface,respectively.Based on the user’s visual cognitive experience of the interface,and on the basis of other strategies on this basis,the feedback mechanism strategy is proposed through the systematic analysis of the interface to realize the standardized management and circular reconstruction of the interface.This study is supported by visual cognitive theory,based on which the feasibility of the existing online learning platform interface of college English in the market is tested by means of eye-movement experiments and questionnaires,and the experimental results are explored in depth and the design improvement strategies of the online learning platform interface of college English are summarized.It also provides new design methods and ideas for improving the interface design of similar platforms,improving the experience of the interface,and enhancing the user’s experience and satisfaction.
