The Effect Of Mandarin Proficiency On Social Integration Of Adolescent Children In Ethnic Areas

As the backbone of sustainable development,the human capital of adolescent children is particularly important.Language ability is the most basic human capital,and a common language(e.g.,Mandarin)is a more valuable human capital.In ethnic areas,due to the deep-rooted influence of dialects from childhood,the lack of language nurturing environment at home,and the poor language environment in society,the Mandarin proficiency of young children is not optimistic.Based on the data obtained from the questionnaires,this study was conducted in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture and Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture,Yunnan Province,and investigated the effect of the level of Mandarin on the social integration of adolescent children in ethnic areas by using econometric regression analysis.It was found that adolescent children’s Mandarin proficiency had a significant effect on their contact with the outside world,their perception of the outside world,their willingness to be friends with people from other ethnic groups,and their willingness to leave the local area.The Mandarin proficiency of adolescent children showed a positive correlation with their social integration.Therefore,based on the research findings and the context of the second centenary goal,it is necessary to innovate the development model of minority Mandarin and elevate minority Mandarin to the level of future development strategy.
