| Hinduism has a long history, but the concept was first proposed by Europeans and is full of colonial flavors. In order to expel the colonists and establish a "nation-state",Savarka transformed the concept of Hinduism, that is,all religions that take "India" as a holy place, take caste system as their essence, and share Indian culture are Hinduism. The "Hindu characteristics" is a religious nationalism theory constructed on this basis, which is developed around the three cores of "nation","race" and "civilization".Among them,"nation" refers to the cultural community formed with the land of "India" as the ancestral land and the common tradition of Hindu culture, and the identity of religion is identified;"race" refers to the descendants of the Aryans, all people with caste Indians;civilization refers to Hindu civilization, the sacred Sanskrit and the Indian local language evolved from Sanskrit are its representatives.Savarka believes that India is a land occupied and ruled by the fearless Aryans, who obtained the status of Hindus by sacrificing mountains and rivers, and therefore,India has always been under the rule of brave Hindus,A unified Hindu nation, and this nation will continue to exist. To prove it,he wrote a set of Hindu national histories, based on Indian religious epics, blending mythology and history.Based on the common history of hero myths and traditions,Savarka builds a new Hindu cultural nation that abandons specific ethnicity, religious behavior, and regional cultural differences with the familiarity and identity of Indians with this common history. In this cultural nation, every Hindu is an Indian, and thus,Savarka evokes a sense of identity and belonging to the "nation-state" among Indians in the rural system of isolated development. In order to improve the sense of identity and belonging,Savarka also transformed Hinduism from a religious custom and tradition into a clear and exclusive religion. The juxtaposed and mutually exclusive identities of Muslims and Christians. This transformation indeed strengthened the cohesion of the Hindu community and played a huge role in repelling the British colonists and promoting the independence of India. On the other hand, the exclusion and denial of Islam and Muslims have also widened the rift between the two communities, increased violent conflicts, and made Indian society turbulent amid religious conflicts. |
