Group cooperative learning is one of the common learning activities in primary school English teachers’ classroom.The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)clearly proposes to cultivate students’ cooperative and exploratory learning ability,and fully explained the importance of group cooperative learning activities in class.This study systematically summarizes,sorts out and summarizes the advantages and characteristics of group cooperative learning activities in high-quality primary school English teaching through classroom observation and research,aiming at improving the teaching design and organization ability of group cooperative learning activities of primary school English teachers in normal classes,and ultimately improving the core English literacy of students.This study takes the high-quality primary school English classes represented by "One Teacher Have One Excellent Class,One Lesson Has One Famous Teacher" in 2019 as the observation object.On the basis of combing relevant research results and theoretical basis such as Activity Theory,Group Dynamic Theory and Constructivism Theory,this study determines 12 specific observation points in four stages of group cooperative learning activities and prepares the Observation Scale of group Cooperative Learning Activities in high-quality Primary School English class.By means of the scale,the group cooperative learning activities of high-quality primary school English class were observed and recorded.Based on the observation results,this paper analyzes and summarizes the advantages of group cooperative learning activities in high-quality classes,and puts forward some suggestions on optimizing group cooperative learning activities in normal English class in primary schools.The study found that the group cooperative learning activities in high-quality English courses of primary school have the following characteristics: In the design stage of group cooperative learning activities: the design concept keeps pace with the times,the learning content is rich and diverse,and the types of activities are clearly structured;In the preparation stage of group cooperative learning activities: Group formation is scientific and reasonable,learning resources are fully prepared,and activity requirements are specific and clear;In the development stage of group cooperative learning activities,students participate actively,the roles of teachers is diverse,and the results are displayed in rich and innovative ways;In the evaluation stage of group cooperative learning activities,the evaluation content is specific and comprehensive,the evaluation subjects are diverse and objective,and the evaluation methods are rich and diverse.In view of the exemplary role of high-quality courses,some suggestions are proposed to optimize the group cooperative learning activities of primary school English normal class.The design of innovative group cooperative learning activities: exploring and innovating,transforming teacher design concepts;Expand channels and carefully read the learning content;Adhere to the curriculum standards and reasonably select the types of activities.Attach importance to the preparation of group cooperative learning activities: overall consideration,scientifically planning team arrangements;Integrate resources to enrich students’ learning experience;Clarify requirements and improve student cooperation efficiency.Promote group cooperative learning activities: create situations to stimulate students’ motivation to participate in;Change roles and play a role of teachers’ multiple;Emphasize innovation and display characteristic learning outcomes.Optimize the evaluation of group cooperative learning activities: broaden the perspective and select multi-dimensional evaluation content;Evaluate objectively and advocate multiple evaluation subjects;Encourage students to integrate multiple evaluation methods.
