"Why not Have Fun" is a four-voice mixed chorus piece from Smetana’s 1866 opera "The Betrayed Bride".This paper takes the mixed chorus work "Why not Have Fun" as the research object.On the one hand,the theme of this chorus work is opera chorus,which is rarely studied in China.On the other hand,the use of dance rhythm in this work highlights the characteristics of its national music,and more elements of Czech folk songs and dances are combined,which has a high national value and humanistic value.Based on the creation background of the works and the composer’s musical creation characteristics,this study aims to enrich the research content in this field through the study of musical characteristics,singing analysis and conducting interpretation,and is expected to help practitioners to perform such national choral works more deeply.
