The King of Fish and The Right Bank of the Erguna River are classic works of ecological literature by Soviet writer Viktor Astafyev and Chinese writer Chi Zijian, respectively. Both writers use the wilderness and mountains of their hometowns as the regional background, and use delicate brushwork to draw an ecological picture of man living in harmony with nature, equal and harmonious interpersonal relations, and a harmonious balance of self and spirit. At the same time, both Astafiev and Chi reveal that anthropocentrism is the key to the crisis of "man and nature","man and man" and "man and himself".They also issued a call to lead the return of morality,to get rid of the spiritual shackles, and to lift the ecological crisis.Based on Professor Lu Shuyuan’s ecocritical theory, this paper will adopt a comparative approach to explore the ecological thoughts of the two writers from three dimensions: natural ecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology, and conduct a comparative study with the aim of providing a broader perspective for the two works. It also hopes to provide practical significance for solving the natural crisis, reshaping a healthy spiritual environment and reconstructing a harmonious society. The body of this paper consists of five parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, which compares the emergence and development of ecocritical theory as the theoretical basis of this dissertation and organizes the definitions of ecocritical theory. The main part outlines Lu Shuyuan’s ecological trichotomy-natural ecology, social ecology and spiritual ecology. The second part, from the perspective of nature and ecology, illustrates the converging relationships between man and nature embodied by Astafiev and Chi Zijian in different ecological fields. The two writers reveal the destruction of nature while showing man’s reverence for it,and criticize and condemn it.The third part explores the consistent relationship between people and society embodied by Astafyev and Chi Zijian in different social groups from the perspective of social ecology.A warm-hearted social group is a sign of social-ecological harmony, but when this group is destroyed,it will lead to the loss of individual group identity and the disappearance of precious traditional culture. The fourth part, from the perspective of spiritual ecology, reveals the similar antagonism and the process of moral return in the mutually different spiritual camps shaped by Astafyev and Chih Tzu Chien. Both writers rely on religious traditions to show the way for the spiritually alienated and lost through the cleansing of evil with good. The fifth part is the conclusion, which reveals the ecological consensus in the two works on the basis of summarizing the ecological ideas expressed in both works.Human beings should establish a holistic concept of ecology, respect the existence of nature and social evolution, and take a healthy spiritual world as an ecological prerequisite for maintaining a harmonious ecological environment. It also points out the revelatory role and practical significance of Astafiev’s and Chi Zijian’s ecological philosophies in promoting ecological civilization and establishing a harmonious society.
