Wang Shu(1635-1699),also named as Hongyou or Jiyuan,was born in Taicang,south of the Yangtze River.Though he was the youngest of the Ten sons of Loudong,he was also well known among them.His poetry mainly recorded in Lu Zhong Ji which was compiled by himself in his old age.As a child of The Wang family from Taiyuan to Loudong,he took Wu Weiye as his teacher,and contacted with Qian Qianyi,Wu Zhaoqian,Wang Shizhen,Xu Qianxue,etc.He was a poet that cannot be ignored in the Shunkang poetry circle.The main content of this article lies in the in-depth study of the expressive content and artistic achievements of Wang Shu’s poetry based on his poetry collection Lu Zhong Ji.The main research methods of this article are document search and close reading of the text,supplemented by data statistics,historical analysis,and other methods.This article discusses from the following three parts.The first part outlines Wang Shu’s life and friends.This article explores the foundation of Wang Shu’s poetry composition from three aspects: the social background and geographical environment of his life,the family customs and habits from his ethnic generation and father and brothers,and the relationship between his teachers and friends.The second part discusses the content of Wang Shu’s poetry collection.His poetry mainly includes four aspects: climbing mountains and rivers,traveling in foreign lands,sending letters to his relatives and friends,and hiding in the Loudong countryside.They respectively express the sadness of changing generations,the joy of travel,the sadness of seeing and hearing,the bitterness of travels,the pain of parting,the joy of reunion,the leisurely seclusion,and the heaviness of declining years.From the expression of different emotions,we can feel the poet’s feelings of home and country and his understanding of life.The third part analyzes the unique artistic characteristics of Wang Shu’s poetry collection.Based on the previous evaluations,this paper discusses from four aspects: the expressive techniques,creative style,spiritual character,and poetics of poetry.Feel the artistic charm of his poetry,which is solemn and clear,with heavy bones and cold spirit.Experience the harmonious integration of Confucianism,Buddhism,and Taoism,and the pursuit of life based on his poetry.Found that he imitated Wu Weiye,worshipped Du Fu,and influenced from Song tunes,especially Su Shi and Han Yu.
