| English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)require students to understand and appreciate some excellent English literary works,such as plays,poems,novels,etc.At the same time,we can obtain enlightenment of life attitude and value concept from the implication and beauty of the works(Ministry of Education2020).English classics,with their authentic language forms and rich and interesting content,create a good environment for students to learn English,promote their understanding of foreign cultures,and improve the core quality of English of Chinese students.But in the high school stage,classic reading has not been reasonable application.In view of this,this paper takes a key high school in Zhengzhou,Henan Province as an example to study the integrated teaching strategy of reading famous English books in high school based on the Black Brin Series.The theoretical basis of this study is schema theory,input theory,emotion filtering hypothesis and metacognition theory.This study adopts a combination of qualitative and quantitative empirical research method,and adopts experimental methods such as questionnaire survey,test before and after examination paper and interview to collect data.SPSS26.0 statistical software is used for data analysis.The subjects were senior one students of a key high school in Zhengzhou,Henan Province.The research question of this paper is mainly the influence of integrated teaching strategy of English classic reading on high school students’ reading interest and reading comprehension competence.It is found that teachers’ integrated teaching strategy of reading English classics can improve high school students’ interest in reading English classics.At the same time,after the end of the experiment,through the test paper score comparison,questionnaire survey and interview,it was found that the experimental class’ s reading level improved more significantly,indicating that the integrated teaching strategy of English classic reading can effectively improve students’ reading comprehension competence.At the same time,the students with more interest also improved their reading comprehension competence faster according to the analysis of the data.This study also provides a reference for high school English classics reading teaching. |
