Linguistic landscape,as an emerging academic topic in linguistics and social circles,has been widely concerned by scholars in recent years,and it has been proved that it can be applied to language teaching.It plays an important role in the development of learners’ episodic learning,language awareness,pragmatic awareness and multimodal skills.The international students are in the environment of the target language and have the opportunity and conditions to fully contact the linguistic landscape.In the classroom,the reasonable use of linguistic landscape resources can not only promote the language learning and cultural adaptation of international students,but also help international students to understand the real and three-dimensional China.In the previous studies on the combination of linguistic landscape and international Chinese teaching,most of them focused on proving the effectiveness of linguistic landscape assisted teaching or tried to put forward teaching design,but ignored the teaching concepts that should be paid attention to in linguistic landscape assisted teaching.In this paper,the linguistic landscape of Chongqing is taken as an example to explore the application of linguistic landscape as a teaching resource in Chinese classroom,try to design the teaching,finally draw conclusions and put forward corresponding teaching suggestions.Hoping to mend the application path of linguistic landscape in international Chinese teachingFirst of all,according to the selected scope,the author investigates the linguistic landscape of Chongqing and excavates its language and cultural characteristics.Through three months of field investigation,the author collected a total of 839 cases of linguistic landscape materials,and classified them according to the two major standards of “top-down” and “bottom-up” and five minor standards of “shop name”,“indicator category”,“advertising”,“warning”,and “banner”.From the overall appearance,linguistic landscape of Chongqing has various forms,and the number of shop names is the largest,followed by the indication category.From the perspective of linguistic characteristics,the linguistic landscape presents the characteristics of multiple languages,and the language combination is mainly Chinese and English combination,different types of linguistic landscape have different language characteristics.In addition,linguistic landscape of Chongqing also reflects a variety of cultural connotations.On this basis,the author finds out the applicability of introducing language and cultural into Chi nese classroom,and thinks about the application of linguistic landscape to international Chinese.Bas ed on existing subject theories and knowledge,the author proposes specific application objectives,ap plication principles and application strategies for teaching objects at different levels,and sorts out ap plicable contents,hoping to fill in the gap for theoretical research on the application of linguistic land scape to Chinese classroom teaching.After sorting out the relevant theories,the author chooses the th emed cultural practice courses of Want a Kung Pao Chicken and Civilization Construction of Chongq ing as examples in the fourth chapter for teaching design.Finally,the author makes a summary of the previous article,and then considers the advantages a nd disadvantages of introducing linguistic landscape into Chinese classrooms.Although the applicati on of linguistic landscape has advantages,it puts forward higher requirements for teachers’ teaching a nd research ability.Therefore,in teaching,teachers should first establish the correct awareness of the application of linguistic landscape,then control the process on the basis of overall arrangement,and finally reflect and study again to improve their teaching and research ability.
