| Thailand’s Chinese education is booming,and more and more Thai people take the initiative to join the team of Chinese learning.In order to meet the needs of Chinese teaching in Thailand,the Center for Language Education and Cooperation sends nearly a thousand volunteer Chinese language teachers to Thailand each year.However,driven by the global wave of education information,traditional teaching methods are facing new challenges,requiring teachers to have information literacy capabilities to improve themselves in this educational transformation.In order to ensure the quality of teaching in Thailand’s international Chinese courses and promote the development of Thai international Chinese teaching,it is necessary to investigate the information literacy of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand.Based on the " UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers(version 3)",it explains the framework of the information literacy from 3 target levels and 6 dimensions.The survey is based on digital survival theory,constructive learning theory,teacher professional development theory and lifelong learning concept.Using mixed research method combined with quantitative and qualitative to investigate the information literacy level of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand.Through the comprehensive collation and analysis of survey data and interview content,it is concluded that the information literacy level of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand is average and the development of various dimensions is uneven.According to the above survey results,it is found that the information literacy of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand has insufficient understanding of the connotation of educational information policies;the application of information technology is shallow and the scope of application is small;the use of information technology lacks creativity;lifelong learning lacks specific practice and other deficiencies place.Combined with the interview,from internal and external factors to find the relevant influencing factors,such as the lack of refinement of national policies,the lack of strong atmosphere of school information literacy,the lack of training goals of training units,and the lack of corresponding on-the-job training of management units.The internal factors are the reasons of the volunteer Chinese language teachers themselves,such as the lack of solid knowledge of educational theory,insufficient lifelong learning action and poor independent learning.In view of the current situation of information literacy of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand,combined with the theoretical basis of this paper,according to the responsibilities of different subjects,from macro and micro perspectives to give some suggestions of information literacy of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand.The improvement path from the macro perspective mainly includes the national education department playing an overall role in leading the development of information literacy education;University training units improve training goals and accurately implement them;The management of volunteer Chinese language teachers should conduct vocational training to promote professional development of information literacy.From a micro perspective,volunteer Chinese language teachers need to actively reserve practical knowledge,implement the concept of lifelong learning,and improve professional quality.This survey hopes to understand the current situation of information literacy of volunteer Chinese language teachers in Thailand,find the existing problems and propose a way to improve,so as to arouse the attention of the academic community to the information literacy ability of volunteer Chinese language teachers,and promote the in-depth development of the information literacy ability of volunteer Chinese language teachers. |
