Huizhou has become an "important town in eastern Guangdong" in the Tang Dynasty. It is the political, economic, military, cultural center and commodity distribution center of the Dongjiang River basin, and the intersection of Guangfu culture,Hakka culture, and Chaoshan culture.Huizhou’s geographical importance and economic development level enable it to gather more talents. Therefore,Huizhou’s local chronicles appear earlier and have a large number, and can maintain the tradition of compiling chronicles. There are eight kinds of Huizhou chronicles in the Ming Dynasty, and there are five kinds of them, including Huida Ji,Huizhou chronicles in the 21 st year of Jiajing,Huizhou chronicles in the 35 th year of Jiajing,Huizhou chronicles in Wanli, and Huizhou chronicles in Chongzhen. At present, there is no special article to study Huizhou Annals of the Ming Dynasty. The first chapter is an overview of the origin and background of Huizhou chronicles. The information about the local chronicles of Huizhou and Xunzhou in the Song and Yuan Dynasties that can be known at present is recorded and verified. The order of its compilation is the old atlas of Zhenzhou and the old atlas of Xunzhou, followed by the Xiangfu Zhenzhou atlas of the Northern Song Dynasty, followed by the Huiyang atlas,Xunzhou atlas, and the old atlas of Huiyang, followed by the Huiyang atlas, the Huiyang new atlas, the Xunzhou atlas, and finally the Huizhou Road Records of Dade of the Yuan Dynasty.Secondly,it briefly describes the background that both officials and people in the Ming Dynasty attached importance to the compilation of records. The second chapter is an overview of Huizhou chronicles of the Ming Dynasty. This chapter comprehensively describes the overview of eight Huizhou chronicles of the Ming Dynasty and one Huizhilue, focusing on the five existing Huizhou chronicles, clarifying the compilation process, the style of the chronicles, and the classification and combination changes, from which we can summarize the characteristics of Huizhou chronicles of the Ming Dynasty, such as gradually optimizing the style, adopting the Compendium style, following the Compilation of Local Records, and setting different categories according to local conditions, and the unique style of Huidaji. The third chapter is about the compilers and their organizations. It briefly introduces their life and the affairs they are responsible for in the process of compiling Huizhou government records.Based on this,it is concluded that the characteristics of the compilation of Huizhou government records are strong continuity, but the compilation cycle is unstable, the number of local gentry participating in the revision is gradually increasing, the requirements for the selection of editors are higher, and there are inextricable relationships between the compilers. The fourth chapter is about the value and disadvantage of Huizhou government annals in the Ming Dynasty. The official records of Huizhou in the Ming Dynasty have many values, including historical and geographical data, ecological history data, folk customs data, political data, cultural data, military data, and social history data. The Huizhou official records of the Ming Dynasty also inevitably had the shortcomings of wrong records and too much discussion, but this did not affect its value.
