A Study Of National Image In Soviet War Films

National image is the comprehensive expression of a country’s strength,the comprehensive evaluation and cognition of the public at home and abroad on all aspects of the country,or the external expression and internal spirit of a sovereign state on the world stage.Correctly and actively shaping and spreading the national image is of great significance for gaining the right of international discourse and enhancing the national influence.Film and television works as one of the important media to shape the national image.Through its audio-visual and story,it is easier for the audience to experience and digest its content,which has a wide spread effect in all social strata.Among them,Soviet films occupy an unshakable position in the world film history.As the eternal theme of Soviet films,war is the most direct reflection of the country and the national image.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly expounds the concept of national image,constituent elements,significance,the advantages of national image shaping in film,the connotation of national image in film,and the relationship between war films and national image.The second chapter mainly combs the development of Soviet war films,from the foundation of Soviet films in the period of Tsarist Russia to Soviet war films before the collapse of the Soviet Union.The third chapter is divided into four parts.The first part analyzes the path of image building of film country,the second part analyzes all aspects of image building of film country,the third part analyzes the influencing factors of image building of film country,and the fourth part analyzes the characteristics of image building of film country.The fourth chapter discusses the enlightenment of Soviet war theme films to Chinese war theme films.This chapter is divided into three parts,which are text creation,film narration and character shaping.The Soviet Union used to be China’s learning and reference object,because of the historical reasons of the Soviet Union to China has a myriad of relations.At that time,the Soviet Union also had a great influence on the literary and artistic works that shaped human hearts.In the early years of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,half of the films introduced were Soviet films,and the shadow of Soviet films was found in all Chinese films.Soviet films not only shaped the national image of the Soviet Union,but also covered the overall image of the socialist camp,including China.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the national image created by the Soviet war films in the rejuvenation of China.
