A Solution Of The Unity Problem Of Proposition Based On Jeffrey C.king’s Structured Proposition Theory

The unity problem of structured propositions is the basic problem of metaphysics.It is related to structural entities,that is,how it is possible to “connect ”components into complex entities,and how structured propositions represent the world.Historically,the unity problem is widely known because of Bradley’s regress,and a large number of philosophers began to try to solve it.Russell recognized the seriousness of the problem very early and invested a lot of energy to solve it,so that he changed his position several times on the big philosophical position,and even contradicted on the specific philosophical theories,but he still failed to provide a reliable solution.Frege,Soames and others have also cut in from the perspectives of "unsaturated meaning" and "predicate behavior",but there are still unsolvable loopholes.Starting with Jeffrey C.King’s structured proposition theory,this paper interprets proposition as fact,appeals the representation ability of proposition to the cognitive ability of subject,and answers the unity problem of proposition through naturalized proposition interpretation.King’s structural proposition theory is reliable to a certain extent,but it also has some theoretical defects.Therefore,based on the objective evaluation of King’s theory,this paper puts forward a tentative conception of program propositions,which,combined with transparent intensional logic,provides a new direction for solving the unity problem of structured proposition.
