Stagnant Time

Watercolor painting is a form of painting in which water is used as a medium to blend pigments.Due to the particularity of tools and materials,watercolor painting presents light,transparent and ethereal artistic characteristics,so it is also known as "light music" in painting.Watercolor still life,as one of watercolor paintings,is consistent with landscape painting and figure painting in the application of techniques.In terms of subject matter and content,the artist can use any object that touches the soul as the object of expression,which depends on the painter’s living environment and aesthetic orientation.Today’s era is an era of rapid development,and people’s living environment has also undergone earth-shaking changes,which has guided watercolor art to a diversified and personalized development track.In the context of "contemporary",artists are no longer satisfied with the reproduction of objective things,but make more use of objective things to present visual experience outside the material.As the connection between perception and art is constantly explored,those ineffable and abstract concepts can also be concretely presented through painting art,and timeliness is one of them.Based on this background,the author decided to start from himself,take the common things in life as the carrier,through the practice of watercolor still life painting to present a kind of stagnant beauty in time.The main content of this paper is the creation process of "Coagulation · Stillness" series,focusing on the problem of how to create a stagnant visual effect through the creation of watercolor still life painting.The full text is divided into three parts.The first chapter is the origin of creation.The author analyzes the research background and basis of this creation from the perspectives of the source and basis of the topic selection and the analysis of the works of famous artists.In the second chapter,the author records the process of his own creation,and explores the problems and solutions encountered in the process of creation;In the third chapter,the author summarizes the creation process of the series of works "Coagulation · Stillness",and expounds the harvest and significance of this creation.
