The "blank space" in Chinese painting often corresponds to the "ontology" in Chinese traditional philosophy.The blank space in the picture symbolizes the "nothingness" of Taoism;Nothingness and interdependence are just like the unity of opposites of the relationship between yin and Yang in the book of changes."Leaving blank" is not only an artistic technique,but also has risen to the philosophical level of "Tao".In the process of painting,the painter pays more attention to "spirit similarity" for "shape similarity",integrates the objective images into the "heart",pays attention to the meaning outside the image,and leaves a large amount of blank cloth white on the picture composition,which gives the bearing space of emotion and the imagination space of the viewer,and "nothing" means "there".In the creation of Chinese painting,the picture not only pays attention to the white cloth,but also pays more attention to the "accidental" flying white texture between the pen and ink.The existence of these little texture makes the pictures have the flexibility of air connection and air permeability.Taking the application and expansion of the "blank" technique as the research direction,based on the traditional "blank" form,this paper explores the application and expansion of the "blank" technique in the creation of contemporary Chinese painting,combines it with the white form of composition,and discusses the application of the "blank" of Chinese painting in the space composition,texture composition and gradual composition of contemporary painting;At the same time,we try to use ink and wash experiments and creative attempts to prove the feasibility of "blank" in Contemporary Chinese painting creation.Finally,in these feasibility,we look for the concept of "blank" which is different from that of predecessors in Contemporary Chinese painting creation-white cloth is the main carrier of picture composition,black,white and gray level differentiation and formal beauty,and no longer undertakes "image";Flying white and brush and ink texture add a sense of time and hazy feeling of concrete things to the picture,and enrich the language form of the picture.
