The original plan for the start of the spring semester could not be carried out normally during the COVID-19.In such a critical situation,the Ministry of Education launched the initiative of “classes suspended but learning continues.” The conversion and integration of online and offline courses has been rapidly achieved through internet technology,and its online learning situation is worth studying.This is especially true for students in senior high school,who are under greater academic pressure.This paper investigates the satisfaction and anxiety of senior high school students with the online English course.The survey is conducted mainly by questionnaire among 229 senior high school students in seven high schools.It aims to investigate the following three questions: 1)What is the current situation of senior high school students’ anxiety and satisfaction with the online English course? 2)What are the factors influencing senior high school students’ anxiety and satisfaction in the online English course? 3)Is there any correlation between anxiety and satisfaction in the online English course? If there is,what is the correlation? The following findings are obtained from the data analysis: 1)High school students are highly satisfied with the online English course and have moderate levels of anxiety.2)High school online English course satisfaction has a direct positive effect on all dimensions;all dimensions(except the student interaction and collaboration)have a negative correlation with overall high school online English course anxiety.3)High school students’ online English course satisfaction has a negative correlation with overall online English course anxiety.The results of this study are expected to offer better understanding of high school students’ satisfaction and anxiety in the online English course,so that teaching programs can be adjusted more specifically to reduce students’ anxiety and increase their satisfaction.In addition,it provides some reference value for research related to online English learning satisfaction and anxiety among high school students.
