Yukio Mishima is an outstanding writer in modern Japanese society and he has worldwide influence because of his remarkable literary achievements.Yukio Mishima’s literature world is so delicate that so many readers are interested in his works.This paper takes youthful male images in Yukio Mishima’s fictions as the object of study.It utilizes methods of close reading and influence study to analyse these images’ meaning and significance for the writer.The paper has three sections.The first section is based on images’ orientations,combining Yukio Mishima’s aesthetics and experiences to classify youthful male images.The second one is established in human social attributes to make clear images’ social behavior patterns and explore what Yukio Mishima paid attention to about social relations.At last the paper bases on situations of globalization and postwar Japanese society to elucidate causes of youthful male images so that comprehends Yukio Mishima’s motive and writing purposes.Based on the study it is visible that youthful male images are the carrier which Yukio Mishima utilized to express his aesthetics and fantasies.He also took writing as his own mirror to adjust his behavior so there existed a flexible interaction between his works and himself.In addition,After experiencing every periods about war,Yukio Mishima watched transformations of Japanese society and global world.It prompted him to think about realities and focus on personal existence.He put these opinions into his fictions to add reality and modernity for youthful male images.
