At present,China’s economy is in the transition period from “fast” to “stable”,enterprises are facing the development needs of the market and competition,the staff needs change,the reform is more and more urgent.A fun work environment is becoming a necessary element of modern enterprises.A relaxed and enjoyable work environment is inseparable from a leadership-driven one.A proper display of humor by leaders in organizational situations can create an atmosphere of trust,enhance psychological security and reduce employees’ silent behavior,thus promoting corporate development and change.It has been found that leadership style and its demonstrated behaviors play an important role in influencing the path of employees’ silent behavior.Leadership humor,as an emerging variable with Chinese characteristics,has been favored by many scholars,and the mechanism of its influence needs to be further deepened.The purpose of this study is to explore the specific mechanism of influence of leadership humor on employees’ silent behavior,and to add two variables,trust in leadership and psychological security,to investigate the role played by both in the mechanism.The research object of this study is the in-service enterprise employees.It adopts the form of online questionnaire.The questionnaire uses four scales,namely the leader humor behavior scale,the trust leader questionnaire,the team psychological security scale,and the silent behavior scale,and finally gets 765 valid questionnaires.The results of the data analysis showed that.(1)Leadership humor can negatively predict employees’ silent behavior.(2)Psychological security plays a partial mediating role between leadership humor and employees’ silent behavior.Leadership humor not only directly affects employees’ silent behavior,but also indirectly affects employees’ silent behavior through psychological security.(3)Trust in leadership has a moderating effect on the relationship between leadership humor and silent behavior,that is,when the degree of trust in leadership is high,leadership humor has a stronger negative effect on silent behavior;Otherwise,it weakens.(4)Trust in leadership has a moderating effect on the mediating effect of psychological security between leadership humor and silent behavior,i.e.,the stronger the strength of the indirect relationship between leadership humor and silent behavior through psychological security when subordinates trust their leaders to a higher degree;conversely,the weaker the strength of this indirect relationship.
