| Chen Jinggu is one of the most far-reaching folk gods in Fujian.Chen Jingu’s beliefs and customs have been enduring for thousands of years and are highly respected by the general public.Therefore,studying this belief and customs is of great significance.Centering on the believers near the ancestral temple of Chen Jingu in Fuzhou and using the theory of daily life and Durkheim religious theory,the thesis discusses the influence of Chen Jingu’s belief and custom on the believers’ daily life.The main part of this thesis analyzes the following three aspects of believers’ social life,family life and spiritual life.It is comprised of six parts.The first part is the introduction which mainly explains the origin and significance of the research,summarizes the previous studies and expounds the innovation points,research ideas and methods.In the second part,the natural and humanistic environment of Chen Jinggu’s belief and custom is explained,then its origin and contemporary situation are sorted out and finally the basic situation of the ancestral temple and the believers is summed up.The third part discusses the influence of the belief and custom activities on people’s social life from three aspects of organization of belief and custom activities,the participation of ritual activities and the formation of human interaction.The fourth part describes the effect of such belief on the family life of believers from three perspectives,including the construction of family belief space,the contagion of beliefs among family members and the influence of beliefs on daily family behavior.The fifth part explores the impact of the belief and custom on the spiritual life of believers from two perspectives,namely,self-identity identification and sustenance of spiritual world.In the sixth part,it draws an overall conclusion for the thesis,pointing out the deficiencies of this study. |
